Wow, I had already almost finished writing my post for today and then I made a retarded mistake with the fourth button of my mouse, reflectively hit cancel *cuz it's 2 am* and then realized I had gone back and discarded everything I had written. Well this fucking blows. Sorrah, there's no way I can regain the motivation to rewrite it all, so this is about all I'll be writing. I think I'm gonna mail it in........

Night,

Well, yeah, this is my first ever blog entry. I'll strive to make it as anti-climactic as possible, so don't hold your breath for anything exciting, nothing but plain vanilla with nothing on it here baby! Not even french vanilla or vanilla bean, PLAIN VANILLA!. In a white bowl!
Anyways, on a more serious note,.....*scathches head* (well this isn't going anywhere good, back to sheer whimsy)
As I sit here in my unadorned dorm room (whitewashed cinder-block in a 1950's era building), I can't help but wonder what has convinced me to put my life (read "what I choose to tell you") on the internet, and furthermore why anyone would want to read it other than the friends that I tell to read it. I'll tell you in a later post if I ever stop wondering *munches pepperoni pizza combo*. Yum. I can tell you what directly led me to start this, which is a thread on Jamie and Steph's forum about blogging. So if anything here pisses you off, blame them :).
In a strikingly original (to my unbelieveably limited knowledge of the blogging world) turn of events, I've decided to attempt to divide my posts into three sections to make my life a bit easier. These will be "The Pros of Getting Up This Morning," "The Cons of Getting Up This Morning," and a section dedicated to commentary, which is basically a cop out so that I can include anything that doesn't fit into the first two categories. So, here goes!

The Pros of Getting Up This Morning
1. Ahem, uh, well, lets just say "satisfaction." ;)
2. A free brunch at the Keene State College Zorn Dining Commons. It's a far sight better than the Upper Student Union here at Regis College, especially in the all important tater-tots-for-breakfast category (don't fret, Regis does indeed have tater tots for breakfast, however the ones at Keene are decidedly better). The pork sandwiches have a lot of room for improvement, but then again, what did I really expect.
3. A scenic first half of a car ride through southwestern New Hampshire to the tunes of The Gathering's live album "Superheat." Very good. Mmmhmm, still good. Yep.
4. An absolutely incredible baseball game. This is one of the few ways (other than video games) that I can remain stationary (while sober) for four hours and be entertained the entire way through. It was, like I said, an incredible game.

The Cons of Getting Up This Morning
1. A horrifically boring second half of a car ride through the nether regions of northern middle Massachusetts. If you ever get the chance to drive on Rt. 140 in Mass., DON'T! Well, I mean, do, cuz I don't think that there's any other road that goes the same place, but be forewarned. BORING. The only saving grace was being able to rock out in the privacy of my own vehicle.
2. The fact that no matter how hard I tried, the Regis campus made a very well coordinated effort to thwart every single attempt I made to obtain food. First, the cafeteria closed at 6:30, so showing up at 6:45 did not much good. Then, the cafe below, which is supposed to be open until ten, wasn't. Then, the vending machine in my dorm was not accepting any dollar bills, and I was literally ten cents short of being able to afford a solitary bag of cheetos. So, score three for Regis campus, none for Dan. I eventually had to admit defeat and drive off campus to a nearby Mobil (Three cheers for Mobil!) to buy a small feast of snack food.

Commentary
Um, yeah. the only thing I feel the need to comment on is a phenomenon I've been gradually noticing over the years. I have played my fair share of video games. I have played a number of first person shooters, including Doom, Quake, Deus Ex, Halo, etc. As anyone who has seriously played a FPS knows, you get very cued into sounds, particularly the opening of doors, as it usually signals the entrance of enemies. I have been becoming more and more aware of the fact that these sounds are often reused in other applications, whether it be in movies, tv, or radio. It may seem ridiculous, but I am more than certain, as I just heard tonight a sound used in Deus Ex in a part of the Discovery Channel show "Monster House." It is just something I've noticed over the years and finally felt the need to say something about.

Well, so ends my first post on my new blog, and consequently the end of an era, that era being the era of Dan's first post on his new blog. Bye all!

P.S.- I get the feeling that I may be ignorant of certain blog lingo and certain other things that a blog pro may deem "amateur." Well, tough shit. Deal with it. If my blog annoys/offends you, remember, it's not my fault, it's Jamie and Steph's for unleashing me on the blog world without prior knowledge. Toodles!

Dan
